In a world where there is so much noise, so much bewilderment, there is a need for silent adoration of Jesus concealed in the Host. Be assiduous in the prayer of adoration and teach it to the faithful. I heartily recommend to the Church’s pastors and to the People of God the practice of Eucharistic Adoration, both individually and in community[1].
Parishioners Most Dear:
An important change in the schedule for the celebration of the daily Mass is coming up soon and I want you all to be aware of it. The change is due to the fact that I, as Father and Pastor of the Community of St. Vincent de Paul, desire that more of us be able to celebrate the Eucharist and make of its celebration the center and the root of our individual and communal spiritual life, as we are taught to do by the Magisterium of the Church.
After devoting a lot of thought, and a consultation with my Pastoral Council, I have decided that beginning on Thursday, March 10 and during the entire season of Lent - ending on Thursday April 12 - the daily Eucharist will be celebrated at 7PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays instead of being celebrated at 8AM. The celebration of this 7PM Mass will be, as always with the daily Mass, in the main Church. Please note that the Eucharist will continue to be celebrated DAILY but at different hours.
This change will allow all those of our brothers and sisters who cannot attend the Eucharist at 8AM, because they have to be at work, or dealing with the usual family matters, the opportunity, not available with our present schedule, to attend the Mass after work, and live a life centered in the Eucharist that propitiates their spiritual growth.
Even as we change the schedule for the daily Eucharist, please know that the Blessed Sacrament will continue to be exposed in the small chapel on TUESDAYS in the MORNING. And I, Father Agustin, will be available to administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation to all those of us who need it. On Thursdays the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed at the end of the 7PM Eucharist, celebrated in the main Church. In this manner, the Holy Hour that we have been celebrating on Thursdays from 8PM to 9PM will be a prolongation of the Holy Mass we will have just celebrated. I thank you for your understanding and help, and for the enthusiasm that you share with me as we begin this new period in the life of our Parish.
With my blessing,
Fr. Agustin,
Pastor.
